 Where are you from?
I am an adopted child who grew up in a small East
Tennessee town called, Etowah, TN. It is 60 miles from Knoxville and 60 miles from Chattanooga. The name Etowah means “muddy water”

 What is your Favorite Restaurant?
That depends on the food to be consumed. Probably
J Alexanders at Cool Springs. I would consider a number of restaurants as my favorites.

 What do you do for fun?
I enjoy golf and tennis or spending time with my
sweet wife.

 Tell us about your family
My wife and I have been married 43 years. We

have 3 children, Julie, who lives in South Georgia and is a Worship Leader at her church. Julie is married to Corey and they have 7 children. Ryan, who is our worship Pastor here at Crossroads Fellowship, is married to Kate who is
a teacher in the Lebanon School District. Ryan has 3 children. Ashley, who is a realtor in Nashville, has been in our family for 15 years. She has also served as a missionary and a Children’s Ministry director.
 What is your Life Verse?
(Phil 3:10) that I may know him and the power of his resurrection
, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

 Tell us a funny story from your childhood
When I was in the 5 th and 6 th grade I had

a spider monkey. (real one) I took him to school with me at the end of my 5 th grade year to meet my teacher. (It was the time we went to get our year-end report cards) I told my teacher NOT to pick him up because he could get rather nervous around other people. Well, I was correct in that prophecy because he pooped all over her dress. I grabbed him and ran out with my report card in hand. (Before she could change any grades) ha ha

 What do you love about Xroads?
There are a lot of special things about this

church that bless my life; the servant heart of the people, the passion for souls, the openness to love on people that might come from very different circumstances than their own and the love for one another that is contagious and unconditional. (a “Jesus” kind of love)

 Where would you go if you could?
I would love to go to Australia, Africa or
Iceland.
THANK YOU PASTOR GARY FOR SHARING A BIT OF YOUR LIFE WITH US!
